| The adult spiritual
formation series, Faith Baseball
is offered in February and October and is a series of four courses
which build on each other and can be thought of as similar to a
baseball diamond.
First
base - “Knowing Christ” This informal
discussion class, taught by Pastor Scott, will cover the basics
of the Christian Faith, Lutheran theology and the history and vision
of Immanuel. This is for those considering baptism, membership
at Immanuel and for those long time members that want to review
the basics.
Second
base -“Growing in Christ”
This
course will be led by Karen Arendt and is for those who have completed
the previous class and want to continue to grow as a disciple and
grow in spiritual maturity. This course will cover the four
spiritual habits of spending time in God's Word, prayer, tithing
and fellowship.
Third
base -“Serving Christ”
This
course will be led by Mary Reitan and is for those who have completed
Second Base and who would like to explore God's purpose for their
life and the way God has uniquely shaped them for ministry.
Home
Plate - “Sharing Christ”
This
class is for those who have completed all of the previous classes
and want to discover their life mission of sharing the good news
of Jesus Christ to a hurting world. This course will help
people to claim their own story of how they came to a living relationship
with Jesus and how to effectively share Christ.
All
four classes are five weeks in length and meet on Sunday afternoons
from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. For more information, please contact
the church office at 503-981-1036.
