more About What We Believe
In recent years we have been using the phrase, “God is up
to something at Immanuel” to express the feeling that the
spirit of God is active at Immanuel and leading us into a new future.
The place where God is leading us is now becoming clearer and I
think that we can now say that, “God is leading us to a new
place of love, location and legacy.
For one, I believe that God is leading us to a deeper
expression of love at Immanuel – love for both those inside
the church family and for those in our community and world. We will
have opportunity to grow in love for those in our church family,
this summer, through our combined worship service that will be held
at 9:00a.m. As we meet in one worship service we gather as people
from different worship styles, generations, and life experiences.
Love shows itself in patience and seeking to understand and appreciate
those who seem “different” from us.

We
will have opportunity to grow in love for those in our church
family, this summer, through our combined worship service
|
As we gather for one worship service you can expect:
• Some Sundays the music may be different from your preferred
style – rejoice that God created a variety of music to be
enjoyed and thank the worship leader(s) for all the time they give.
• Some Sundays someone else may sit in “your”
seat – rejoice that the church is full that day and extend
a warm greeting to those around you.
• Some Sundays the collection of the offering and the way
that the Lord’s Supper is served, may be a little different
from the usual – take a moment to give thanks for God’s
generosity and grace given to you.
• Some Sundays there may be “noisy” children present
- give thanks for the children and that young families want to make
worship a priority and give the parent(s) a word of encouragement.
• Every Sunday we celebrate that we have been forgiven and
renewed in Christ Jesus who draws us into His One body – a
people deeply loved by God and called to love one another –
even and especially because of our differences.
I am asking each of you to make a commitment to regular
worship throughout the summer and to attend Coffee Connect, following
worship. I know that this will be pleasing to God and will build
up, in love, the Body of Christ at Immanuel.
In Christ’s love,
Pastor
